Comments:
This particular BD-5 MicroJet was recently listed by
The
Guinness Book of Records as the world's smallest jet plane,
beating the previous record-holder by 80 lbs. New finished and
flying BD-5's are going for $240,000. The U.S. Military actually has
several in use, for operations you never hear about, so James Bond
was ahead of his time. Want to see one in action? Rent or buy a copy
of the James Bond film
"Octopussy"
, where Bond used it to foil the bad guys once again. View the movie
trailer
here.
Recently
completed, and certified by a licensed A&P as airworthy. MIA
FSDO has accepted the Maintenance Program. Final
Experimental/Exhibition (Category IV) airworthiness certification is
pending. Includes custom trailer and spares, extra NOS canopy, lots
of kit hardware, tires, tubes, custom tools, full engineering
drawings and plans for both the airframe and engine. Empty weight is
358 lbs, lightest BD-5J ever built.
In some countries this
airplane CANNOT be registered for flight (most notably the UK). If
in doubt, ask your local CAA first. Liability Release signed by
purchaser AND spouse is mandatory, no sign, no sale. Originally
built in Australia, bought as project and brought back to the US,
then finished here. Call me to discuss this plane. The owner will
deliver anywhere in the world where it is legal to do so, with the
exception of France or the U.K. WILL CONSIDER TRADES, as I am
interested in a two-seat certified motorglider." |
