After World War II, Morane Saulnier
designed the French Socata MS.880 for a government competition.
First flown in 1959, the Rallye won the competition and went
into production. The Rallye was constantly upgraded, first by
Morane Saulnier, then by SOCATA when Morane Saulnier became part
of that firm.
In the late 1970s, SOCATA licensed the
Rallye to PZL in Poland. PZL named the aircraft Koliber, Polish
for "Hummingbird"
A fun-to-fly airplane,
made with 90% American Parts, easily available, this is a true
multi-purpose STOL 4-Place Aircraft.
An extremely safe
and sturdy cross-country flyer that is comparable to a Socata
Rallye When slats deploy, as the aircraft slows, it really
increases lift, and the plane will slow down to about 40 mph for
a very short landing. The plane is practically impossible to
stall, so many call it the "tin parachute", making it
a safe plane to fly. Call me now. |
